Trip Itinerary
Upon your arrival in Oslo, you’ll be greeted by a private driver and transferred to your hotel. As you settle in, an English-speaking assistant will provide you with a welcome package containing essential documents, your detailed itinerary, and answer any questions you might have.
With Oslo’s wealth of museums encompassing everything from art to Viking history, you’ll have free time to explore the city’s finest museums, all conveniently listed in your trip documents. A welcome package with a city map and other helpful tourist information will also be provided.
Today, embark on a comprehensive tour of Oslo’s most iconic attractions. Accompanied by a private guide and driver, your journey will take you through the centuries of history that define the Norwegian capital. Begin at the medieval Akershus Fortress, offering sweeping coastal views. Stroll down Karl Johans gate, Oslo’s primary thoroughfare, where you’ll encounter landmarks such as the 19th-century Royal Palace and the lush Palace Park.
Discover Oslo Cathedral, Oslo’s oldest university buildings, and indulge in local specialties at Mathallen, an indoor food hall. Venture further afield to visit The Vigeland Park, showcasing Gustav Vigeland’s remarkable sculptures, and explore the open-air Folk Museum on Bygdøy Peninsula. Your day also includes a visit to the fascinating Fram Museum, offering insights into Norway’s rich maritime history.
Following breakfast, a private transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Alta. Once in Alta, you’ll be transported to Sorrisniva, known for its culinary delights centered around locally sourced ingredients.
Enjoy dinner at Maku Restaurant, overlooking the Alta River and the surrounding Arctic wilderness. The evening concludes with a thrilling Northern Lights hunt guided by an expert. You’ll have the chance to capture the mesmerizing Aurora Borealis and immerse yourself in the enchanting culture and history of Alta.
Today’s adventures in Alta commence with a remarkable reindeer sledding experience, during which you’ll gain insight into Sami culture from your Sami guide. Afterward, savor lunch at the iconic Lavvu Restaurant, designed in the style of a Sami tent.
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a snowmobiling excursion, driving your own snowmobile while keeping a lookout for the elusive Northern Lights. The day concludes with a well-deserved ice-cold drink at Sorrisniva.
Prepare for an exhilarating day of dog sledding through the stunning local wilderness. Beginning at a family-owned kennel with 25 eager huskies, you’ll receive Arctic gear and embark on a thrilling mushing adventure. Glide through pristine snowy woods and the expansive Vidda (Finnmark plateau), taking in the breathtaking Arctic terrain.
Pause for a delightful lunch amidst the Arctic beauty. Weather permitting, enjoy vistas of the Alta canyon and spot native wildlife. Glide silently through Europe’s last remaining wilderness.
Bid farewell to Alta as you head back to Oslo via a flight (not included in the itinerary). Arriving in Oslo, you’ll have the opportunity to relax and recharge at The Thief Spa, enjoying access to the spa facilities and a range of rejuvenating treatments. Unwind with a hammam bath, Moroccan clay treatment, or a soothing massage by professional therapists (additional charges apply for treatments).
On your final day, your private driver will take you to the airport for your departure. It’s time to bid adieu to the captivating landscapes and cultural experiences of Norway as you head home or continue your adventures elsewhere.
